How To Make Homemade Classic Apple Pie

INGREDIENTS

250 Grams Maida

1/2 cup powdered sugar

Salt to taste

75 grams Frozen butter

1 tbsp chilled water (as per required)

FILLINGS 

2 to 3 large Green/Red Apple

1/2 cup sugar

1 tbsp cinnamon powder

cake crumble 4 tbsp (optional)

HOW TO MAKE CAKE CRUMBLE 

100 grams maida

30 grams butter

50 grams sugar

Mix it all by hand till it gets a crumbly texture

MILK WASH

1 tbsp milk

1/2 tbsp caster sugar

Icing sugar for dusting

METHOD OF PREPARATION 

To make crust dough, soft refined flour, powdered sugar, salt through a sieve in a mixing bowl.

Add frozen butter and mix it well, Add 1 tbsp, chillied water, knead into semi soft dough.

Place dough on a cling flame and refrigerate it till firm.

Heat on a non stick pan. Add apples, sugar mix and cook it till apples get softer. Remove from it from the pan and set it aside.

Now transfer the apple mixture to cool and add cinnamon powder and cake crumbles, mix it well and that too aside.

Preheat the oven at 180°C.

Divide the dough into 2 equal parts. Dust the working top with refined four and then roll out one of the portion into sheet.

Line a pie dish with the rolled dough sheet.

Transfer the apple mixture onto the dough lined on pie dish.

Take the remaining half of the dough roll it out and cut the thin strips of the dough and  line it over the pie dish in a criss-cross manner.

Milk wash the pie and sprinkle caster sugar.

Place dish in the baking oven and bake it for nearly 30 minutes or till the crust gets lightly golden [Temp 180°c] or less.

Remove it from the oven, transfer to a serving dish. Dredge icing sugar on top and serve it.
